We are looking for a full time Minister of Word and Sacrament to join our Team Ministry. The Nominating Committee will be responsible for the appointment of this person.

St Andrews town centre

St Andrews New Kirk

We are excited to be part of the central ministry and mission in this historic part of our Church’s roots.

Christianity is vibrant in North-East Fife and St Andrews New Kirk Church of Scotland is seeking to appoint a full-time Minister of Word and Sacrament on a seven-year reviewable charge.

S/he will be part of a Team Ministry of 2.0 fte Ministers of Word and Sacrament, the other current member being Rev Graeme Beebee, incumbent Minister of one of the legacy congregations. The Kirk Session has voted in favour of departing from the Church’s traditional position in respect of ministers in same sex marriages and civil partnerships, and therefore applications are invited from all eligible ministers.

With our union being so recent (1 January 2026), we still have much to do in bringing together our structures and patterns of worship; we hope to make a timely appointment so that our new Minister can contribute fully to the discussions, decisions and developments.

We may not have a clear vision of what our new Minister is like, but we are confident that God does!

What we offer

  • a very warm and Christian welcome, along with our love, prayers and support

  • a supportive, committed Ministerial colleague

  • our varied gifts

  • a friendly, outward-looking congregation which values the opportunities for growth and collaboration which our union brings

  • a comfortable modern manse in a quiet residential area

What we hope you will bring

  • an approachable, good humoured and understanding manner

  • the proven ability to work alongside others as part of a team

  • a loving attitude underpinned by prayer and reflection

  • a willingness to try new things and support others in doing so, with the ability to evaluate impact

  • experience of intergenerational Christian outreach work within

  • a community

  • a heart for working alongside others, both ecumenically and in the wider community

  • a sensitive, listening approach able to discern and encourage the gifts within our church

  • your personal gifts and interests – maybe a passion for music, plate spinning, golf … or something we haven’t even thought of!
